The new owner of the venerable Sunday Business Post wanted to reinvent it as a multi-platform media property operating with equal authority across web, broadcast, podcasting, conference production, and print. That meant a full rebrand, including a cleaner layout and a streamlined workflow for the flagship newspaper.
CI Studio was chosen to lead the effort, and Signal was brought in to provide a nameplate and a proprietary headline face that would meld seamlessly with existing type palettes during what promised to be (and was) a tricky transition, and to provide a visual link between the newspaper and the Post’s other media properties. We dropped ‘The Sunday’ from the name to reflect contemporary 24/7 news cycles, restructured the simplified titlepiece, and drew BP Edition to carry the brand forward while complementing the legacy type palette. Branding and editorial design by CI Studio.
