Lorber

Rosalind Lorber was a midcentury calligrapher and book jacket designer who did quietly distinguished work for Random House, Scribners, and other New York publishers. No one seems to know much about her, but since we found a few of her covers at thrift shops, we’ve become slightly obsessed. Lorber is loosely based on her lettering for the 1961 Scribner’s Book Club edition of The Forsyte Chronicles.
